MPC NY teamed up with agency Merkley + Partners once again for a stunning new campaign celebrating the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC luxury SUV. Directed by Jeffery Plansker out of production company B-Reel, ‘Overachiever’ and ‘Worth the Wait’ both capture the essence of the new model with impressive integrated visual effects that support the live action.
‘Overachiever’ opens with a clay sculpture of a GLC on a table in the design studio. The picture freezes and a CG-simulated version of the real model bursts through the frame, propelled by subtle VFX compositing and clean up. MPC’s artists enhanced the shots that were filmed in various locations in California, including at the site of a mine and the base of a volcano.
In the second spot, 'Worth the Wait,' MPC artists help accentuate the flawless look of the vehicle, seen in running footage as it traverses a variety of settings, with environmental work, sky replacements and composites.
