Rob Hodgson is a Creative Director at MPC’s LA studio. A well-respected and accomplished VFX supervisor and artist, Rob’s body of work spans both feature films and commercials including Ang Lee’s epic “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” for which he received a BAFTA nomination for visual effects. Acclaimed commercial work includes the Nissan “Star Wars” spots with Shawn Levy, Honda’s “Tower of Success” by directors Smith & Foulkes, the series of trippy promos for FX’s “Legion” directed by Paul Tolton, and the Capital One campaign with Jon Favreau.
Rob has worked at film studios such as Disney, Fox, Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures Classics and at film facilities such as Double Negative and Hydraulx. During that time he worked as VFX Supervisor on notable films such as “American Beauty” directed by Sam Mendes and the Academy Award-winning “Inception” directed by Christopher Nolan.
Having worked on high profile features, Rob went on to explore commercials at studios, ultimately finding a connection with the team of artists he was looking for at MPC. Over the years he has worked on hundreds of commercials all over the world for clients such as Visa, BMW, Apple, Guinness, DirecTV, Kia, GE, Vizio and Nike. Rob’s creative collaborations extend to an esteemed cross-section of A-list directors, among them Paul Haggis, Noam Murro, Paul Hunter, Henry Alex Rubin, Sam Bayer, Dante Ariola and Reynald Gresset.
Rob’s ability to lead teams through large-scale projects all with an impeccable eye for detail is just part of what makes him a valuable leader at MPC.
