Colourist Jean-Clément Soret Provides Grade for Joy Division’s reimagined music video ‘Wilderness’
Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the Joy Division music video for ‘Wilderness’, was created using rushes from her BAFTA award winning film ‘The Swimmer’, originally graded in black and white, Lynne decided to change the video to color, with the help of Jean-Clément Soret.
The video forms part of the bands ‘Unknown Pleasures: Reimagined’ series, which celebrates the album’s 40th anniversary.
MPC Global Creative Director of Colour Grading, Jean-Clément Soret, discussed his approach to the grade:
“A unique opportunity to create a new piece by revisiting footage of one of my favourite short films “The Swimmer”. Lynne Ramsay’s idea to grade it in colour brings a very different flavour to this Joy Division music video”
