MPC LOOKS TO THE FUTURE IN ENERGTIC ‘LIMITLESS’ CAMPAIGN FOR THE NISSAN KICKS, DIRECTED BY CALMATIC

MPC’s teams across the globe have joined forces to bring to life five energetic spots for the 2021 Nissan Kicks, directed by Calmatic from Pretty Bird.

The ‘effortlessly cool’ bespoke films by TBWA Chiat Day NY feature a young woman driving Nissan’s new vibrant car through downtown LA. Our VFX teams enhanced the car, environments and the different wardrobe looks to create perfectly coordinated and stunningly balanced, eye popping scenes that show how broad the customization possibilities are within the new car.

MPC were tasked to replace the 2020 model that was shot on set with the 2021 in CG. Jessie Amadio, VFX Supervisor explains:

“We created a fully CG version of the 2021 Nissan Kicks in six different base colors and countless color accessory combinations. Having a fully customizable car asset allowed us to not only skin the on-set car model for product accuracy, but also creatively cycle through colors and environments within the high-energy edit.” Jessie adds: “In addition to previs, we created a lot of concepts, style frames and motion tests to develop the visual language of the Kicks’ impact on its surroundings. Between the five spots, there is a huge diversity of strong visuals, so we had a great time developing those with Calmatic and TBWA.”

MPC New York delivered all five spots with MPC London providing VFX on ‘Zoomerang’ and ‘Colors’, and assistance from MPC Bangalore throughout.

The project required a combination of cutting-edge equipment and craftmanship. The end films embrace confidence, energy and movement, demonstrating how Nissan is constantly innovating and with the boldly new Nissan Kicks, the possibilities are limitless.
