MPC works with Deutsch on Dr. Pepper’s new campaign
Dr. Pepper’s new hero, the CraveRider, makes his debut by pleasantly surprising a few thirsty sports fans in the brand’s “Watch Party” commercial.
CraveRider’s signature look includes a retro haircut, life vest and a jet ski that rides on… you guessed it, Dr. Pepper.
“Watch Party” is the first spot in the new campaign from Deutsch and Smith & Jones director Ulf Johansson. MPC’s artists worked closely with both the agency and Johansson, perfecting the grade, CG liquid and overall visuals needed to achieve the right comedic effect.
MPC’s CG Lead Clement Renaudin said, “I really loved the creative back and forth with Deutsch and Ulf. The look of the main fluid simulation was established early enough to leave a maximum of time to refine it and make it photo-real. It was great to nail such a heavy effect and see it serve such a comedic purpose.”
In addition to Renaudin, MPC’s Jim Spratling led 2D and Creative Director Michael Gregory oversaw the project. Colorist Ricky Gausis provided the grade.
