‘Sumo’ for France Television’s 2021 Olympics campaign was made to break records! One week into the world and the film, imagined by MullenLowe France and entirely produced by Mikros MPC, has received more than 3.4 Million views on social media and has been tremendously well received by the media all around the world.
Last weekend, Promax Europe Awards 2021 announced the winners of this year’s competition, we’re thrilled to see Sumo’ win four gold awards:
– Best Use of Animation
– Best Programme Spot
– Best Live Sport Event/Programme Spots
– Best Programme Spot Not Using Programme Footage
A fantastic recognition for Mikros MPC’s work and the team who were involved in every step of the project development, from the art direction, direction and final delivery of the film, serving as a one-stop-shop creative house to bring to life this 2D animation film inspired by Japanese prints.
As Hugues Allart, project lead and producer, comments:
“As soon as I saw the “Sumo” brief by MullenLowe France, I fell in love [but] I knew it was going to be a complex production. For the film to be successful, it needed a specific team to execute the agency’s vision of a highly crafted piece of art within the required budget and timeframe. [Because we] nurture a large pool of amazing talent that is unique in the market today, I was able to bring together a dream team of artists that I had already had the experience of working with. […] I am extremely proud of the final result. This is a beautiful film that is a true testament to the highly crafted work that we, at Mikros MPC, enjoy creating day to day.”
