Stella Artois 4%, Triple Filtered

Mother London has produced the new campaign for Stella Artois, ‘Triple Filtered’ directed by Fredrik Bond. The job advertises the launch of the new 4% beer with a humorous illustration of ‘smooth.’ MPC created the digital environment, replaced skies and added a 60’s Rivera feel to the film.

The job was led by VFX Supervisor, Bill McNamara who attended the shoot in Rome and was post produced by Julie Evans and Scott Griffin who attended the plate shoot on the Amalfi Coast. These plates were later enhanced by the integration of a digital environment with the ‘falling through the clothes line’ scenes. These shots also combined elements from the stunt shoot in Rome where plates of the gent falling through a number of washing lines in both wide and close up shots were taken. This involved an important exercise in continuity to centralise the path of the fall.

In other shots, skies were replaced to add the sunny heat of the Cote D’Azur and facades and signage were aged to match the 60’s theme. The bar scene integrates shot people and shadows with the built set background.

The ad was fully graded in telecine from 35mm camera negative, then shot back to negative to make a print. The print was transferred on telecine to add an extra feel of 60's cinematography.

There is a 40 second ad on air in the UK and a 60 second version for Cinema.
