Badly Drawn Boy, Nothings... |
|
Dougal Wilson has directed the new promo ‘Nothing's Gonna Change Your Mind’ for Badly Drawn Boy. Production was handled by Colonel Blimp and record company was EMI Recordings. The promo, shows Damon Gough, driving along through city and countryside playing his piano, cleverly fitted into the space where his dash board once was – the piano strings take up the room under the bonnet where the engine would normally be. He later picks up the rest of the band, who happily climb into the back…
MPC’s VFX work, carried out by Pete Rypstra and Ziggy Zigouras involved transitioning from a nice dry day to a rainy storm. Extra rain was added onto the side of car and also enhanced the real rain shot in camera. Reflections appear in the wind screen.
For the sequence in the car wash, people dancing and dressed as cleaning brushes were composited into the shots, with sun rays added to shine through their edges. Lens flare enhances the dreamscape like grade created by Jean-Clement Soret and Mark Horrobin. Rig removal and clean up ensure that the shots look believable. |
